Nestling behind the historic city walls of Canterbury is the Grade II listed Georgian House on Burgate. Burgate was one of the original six city gates giving access into the city.

The Georgian House has been painstakingly renovated over the years to enhance its Georgian features whilst allowing for the benefits of modern living whilst .

The Space

Whether you want a cosy weekend away or a week exploring Canterbury Cathedral, punting down the River Stour, shopping at The Good Shed for local produce, visiting the museums or enjoying a play at the Marlowe theatre, you could not be more centrally placed. You are also close to some of the best coastal beaches, Whitstable, Broadstairs and Reculver being just a few.

The Georgian House sleeps 8 people in 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Unusually for a property in Canterbury, and a huge bonus for those visiting, the house has private, gated parking for up to 3 cars.

Internally the house has two sitting rooms, a dining room with ornate period fireplace and shuttered sash windows, large stunning kitchen, three good sized bedrooms (one of which has a king size bed as well as a twin trundle bed) and three bathrooms.

As you would expect the house is well equipped. The kitchen has a gas range cooker, two fridge freezers, dishwasher, washing machine, wine fridge and underfloor heating. In the upstairs sitting room, there is a flat screen smart TV, working gas fires in some of the rooms and plenty of storage.

Outside, there is a patio/garden area that is perfect for al fresco dining and of course the parking area.

If you are looking for a short city break in the heart of Canterbury you will hard pressed to beat The Georgian House. It is quite literally opposite the Postern gate entrance to the Cathedral and Kings School.
