1 Forstall House is effectively a new house in an old shell. All the original features have been retained but everything has been upgraded for modern living including double glazing and underfloor heating.
You enter the house via an open porch. To the right is a sitting room with log burner set in an original brick fireplace. Further down the hall is a large kitchen diner with an enormous inglenook fireplace and wood burner. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay – 5 ring range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and granite work surface with breakfast bar. The dining area seats 5 comfortably and opens onto a conservatory which in turn, opens to the garden. For those who love the countryside, the garden backs on to paddocks and then fields giving a beautiful open vista.
Stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king-sized be, an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. The views are towards the back of the property. The second bedroom has a double bed and television. The third bedroom is a single with views into the village. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower over.
There is parking for two cars.
Worth is a pretty village which lies on the edge of Sandwich. Originally known for its fertile agricultural land, Worth also found its place in history as the birthplace for C.S. Forester’s character Horatio Hornblower.
1 Forstall House is an ideal hideaway for a short break whether you want a peaceful holiday or a golfing weekend, being close to both Sandwich and Deal golf courses. It is only available for a few months and key weekends during the year but is definitely one to book when you get a chance.
